James Howard Borchert

James Howard Borchert was born in Stuttgart on July 1, 1952 to Howard and Sallye Hayes Borchert.  His parent being of the Christian Faith, brought James to the waters of Holy Baptism on Oct. 19,1952.  In keeping with their Baptismal Promise, they instructed James in the faith, brought him to worship, and he was then confirmed on April 9, 1967.  James’ confirmation verse was John 8:12, “When Jesus spoke again to the people, He said, “I am the light of the world.  Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

Following graduation from Stuttgart High School, he received a bachelor of Science Degree in History from Henderson State University.  He was purchasing manager for Riceland Foods, Inc., in Stuttgart where he had been employed for 32 years.  He was a member of St. John’s Luther Church.

He is survived by his son, Zachary James Borchert (Shannon) of Stuttgart; his parents, Howard and Sallye Borchert of Stuttgart; Zack’s mother, Renee Robison of Sherwood; two brothers, Fred Borchert (Cindy) of Fort Smith and Kermit Borchert (Cindy) of Ashland, Ohio; three nephews; and one niece.

Graveside service will follow this service at Shiloh Cemetery in Crockett’s Bluff.
